I am so excited for this one, and I don't even have dry skin. This was a new one for me, and I had a couple of people who needed the extra moisture try this out - and this got RAVE reviews! How it came to be was a matter of necessity. See, I bought five ears of corn at the farmer's market last week. We have three people in our household, only one of which will eat more than one ear of corn at a time (Fiance loves his food). So I had an extra ear. What to do? What to do? I started poking ... Crunchy Kids! The First of Many
I have a giant. A 13-year-old, shaving, 5'9" giant. And I've goaded him, pleaded him, and cried at his feet to test out some crunchy recipes for teens. He says no (although I will wear him down one of these days). Then he hugs me and tells me he loves me, so I forgive him. Because he's 13, and hugs don't come fast and furious like they used to. So perhaps that's why I didn't even think to start doing things for little ones. But last Christmas, I made everyone in the family lotsa homemade ... Continue Reading
Food on Your Face (and Hair!) : Yogurt

Smoothies are a staple in my life (peanut butter and chocolate chip, especially). I also use yogurt in a grand amount of my homemade ... Continue Reading
Crunchy Betty Quick Tips on Twitter!
Twit a load of this: Got a sunburn? Mix a little cucumber juice and white wine together and spread on the toasty area. Enjoy the cooling sensation! When you've knocked your leg silly on the table edge and find yourself with an unsightly, painful bruise - rub an onion on it! It helps lighten the bruise and quells some of the pain. Ew. Dandruff. Pour some white or apple cider vinegar on that mess, scrub it in to your scalp and let it sit for 20 minutes. Dandruff gone. Achoo! ... Continue Reading
Twofer! Refreshing Green Apple, Cucumber, and Mint Spritz / Cucumber Apple Sugar Scrub
Crunchies! This is a blast. A refreshing summer project that very easily turned into two great recipes. It is going in my Trapper Keeper forever. It's pretty intense, so I'll cut with the chit-chat here. (My, though. You DO look lovely today.) Quick notes about the recipes: Cucumbers are soothing and moisturizing, as we learned here. Apples are moisturizing, astringent and the pectin is effective at reducing wrinkles. Mint is refreshing and astringent, so it helps control oil. Vodka tones, ... Continue Reading
