Description
If you’ve never experienced the oil cleansing method – if you have no idea what it is – your life is about to ROCK.
It’s Tamanu Thyme Oil Cleanser (or cleansing oil) was created to be appropriate for normal-to-oily or acneic skin.
Yes. That’s right. I’m suggesting you clean your oily skin with oil. It works, and it is amazing.
You see, in scientific terms, like dissolves like. So the nourishing and healing oils in It’s Tamanu Thyme Oil Cleanser work to dissolve the old, dirty oils that have accumulated on your face over the course of the day. When you’re done, it leaves behind fresh, renewed skin that isn’t as antsy to produce MORE oils to compensate for what you’ve stripped off, if you use a traditional facial cleanser.
With continued use, you just might find out you have gorgeous, supple, clear, and radiant skin that you never knew you had before.
Best of all – it’s also a wildly effective MAKEUP REMOVER! (In fact, the oil cleansing method is the only way I ever remove my makeup.)
This makes it a great companion to the It’s Tamanu Thyme Cleansing Grains (which do not remove makeup). You can use the light thyme oil cleanser in the evening to remove your makeup, and the cleansing grains in the morning to gently exfoliate and nourish your face.
We offer It’s Tamanu Thyme Cleansing Oil in either 2 oz or 4 oz glass bottle with a glass dropper. This should be enough to “wash” your face at least 70 to 140 times depending on the size you choose.
INGREDIENTS: Hexane-free castor oil, sunflower oil, jojoba oil, tamanu oil, grapeseed oil, thyme essential oil.

HOW TO USE THE CLEANSING OIL (AND DO THE OIL CLEANSING METHOD):
Starting with a dirty face (no need to pre-clean here, even if you’re wearing makeup), rinse your face lightly with the warm, running water.
Squirt at least1 full dropper in the palm of your hand and then apply gently all over your face. Massage firmly, but gently, always moving upwards. Massage for 2 minutes, and then let the oil sit on your face for 30 additional seconds (or longer).
By now, you should have very hot water coming out of your faucet. Adjust the heat until it’s cool enough to apply to your skin, but warm enough to soften the oil (it’s probably going to be hotter than the water you usually rinse your face with).
Dunk the washcloth under the hot/warm water until it’s completely soaked. Apply the washcloth to your face and hold it there for 10-15 seconds. Slowly begin to wipe off. Rinse your washcloth and repeat until you’ve wiped all the oil off your skin.
IMPORTANT: You want your skin to feel soft and supple, not oily or slippy. Continue to wipe with the washcloth until you’ve achieved this feeling.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Your skin may take some time to adjust to your new cleansing regimen. During this time, do your best not to use traditional facial cleansers (that contain surfactants that strip the oil).
You must allow your skin to learn to regulate the oils it produces naturally. If you strip those oils with a traditional cleanser, it could cause some problems in the form of breakouts.
In addition, you may (or may not – many people do not) experience breakouts during this adjustment time, as well. If your skin has not readjusted within 2-3 weeks, discontinue the use of this product.
The oil cleansing method works exceptionally well for some people, but not at all for others. The only way you’ll learn if it’s right for you is … of course … to try it!

MORE IMPORTANT NOTE:
If, after using this cleansing oil for two weeks, you find that your skin is either too oily or too dry (castor oil can be very drying), you can add additional oils to adjust the cleanser to your skin’s specific needs.
If your skin is too dry: Add some jojoba or sunflower oil.
If your skin is still too oily: Add a little more castor oil.
You can TOTALLY adjust this to perfection for your very own face. Cool, huh?
